This Georgian whisky tumbler dates from the Regency period and takes a cylindrical form in clear lead crystal with a polished pontil mark to the underside. The outer surface displays bands of slice and porthole cutting accompanied by fine vertical blaze cut detailing above a panel cut base. The smooth rim opens widely above the tapering sides, creating a sturdy vessel with a heavy flat bottom. Measuring 9 cm high by 8 cm wide, the piece sits comfortably in the hand for serving spirits. In a contemporary home, this glass serves functionally on a sideboard top or within a gentleman's library setting for daily use or display. The traditional lead crystal catches ambient light through the intricate wheel-cut motifs, adding texture to a drinks trolley or bar cabinet. Maintenance involves gentle hand washing to preserve the brilliant clear finish of the antique material.

Originating in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries, blaze cutting features fine vertical cuts radiating upwards around the body, frequently paired with horizontal band or panel cuts near the base.

Georgian glassware was predominantly hand-blown using heavy lead crystal, providing high clarity, distinct weight, and a resonant ring when tapped.

Authentic period pieces display slight hand-cutting irregularities, natural wear or fine scratching on the base, a ground or polished pontil mark, and high lead content density.

These vessels can be arranged on a brass drinks trolley, displayed within a glazed cabinet, or integrated into a curated home bar setup alongside contemporary decanters.

Hand wash gently in lukewarm water using mild liquid detergent and a soft cloth, avoiding dishwashers and sudden temperature fluctuations that cause thermal shock.
