Georgian brass lighting is characterised by classical proportions, turned stems, and heavy cast metal construction, often featuring distinctive bases such as lobed, petal, or square forms.

These pieces were typically made from yellow brass using sand-casting or multi-part construction methods, followed by lathe-turning to refine the profiles and create smooth finishes.

Authentic pieces display historical casting flaws, tool marks from lathe work, appropriate patination, and correct construction techniques such as threaded or pinned joints consistent with 18th-century workshop practices.

It can be styled on a mantelpiece, bookshelf, or side table as a sculptural metal accent, pairing well with both contemporary minimalism and traditional interiors to add historical depth.

Preservation involves dusting with a soft, dry cloth and avoiding abrasive cleaning agents or harsh polishes to maintain the accumulated historical patina and prevent surface damage.
