This pair of late Victorian champagne bowls belongs to the English country house style of 1880, produced in clear cut glass and lead crystal. Each piece features a wide bowl with petal cutting, slice cut stems with supporting collars to the top and base, polished pontil marks to the circular foot, and a fluted bowl design with a turned stem. The glass exhibits no chips or cracks. The dimensions are 12 cm high, 9 cm wide, and 9 cm deep. These glasses work well displayed upon a sideboard top for celebratory toasts or stylish home entertaining, or served alongside a chilled bottle of champagne during special dinners.

Victorian champagne coupes feature wide, shallow bowls elevated on slender stems, often decorated with hand-cut fluting, panel cuts, or geometric facets popular during the nineteenth century.

Glassmakers utilised lead crystal prized for clarity and refraction. Pieces were mouth-blown before being cut and polished on iron and stone wheels to produce defined surface patterns.

Authentic period stemware typically demonstrates higher density due to lead content, smooth circular bases, and minor variations in hand-cut details across matching pieces.

These glasses function as stemware for cocktail service, decorative display items on bar carts and sideboards, or vessels for serving individual desserts at formal gatherings.

Hand washing in lukewarm water with mild liquid soap prevents thermal shock and clouding. Avoid mechanical dishwashers and dry immediately with a soft cloth to maintain clarity.
