Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This Regency eight day striking and repeating bracket clock has a dark brown mahogany case decorated with polished brass inlay in the spandrels and along the base drawer, complemented by a round white enamel dial marked with black Roman numerals behind a curved glass door. The architectural dark wood body sits on small round brass ball feet, topped with a detailed brass pineapple finial and fitted with cast brass lion mask drop handles on the sides alongside red fabric behind pierced fretwork side panels. Standing 50 cm high, 32 cm wide and 18 cm deep, the timepiece functions as a mantel clock. Positioned on a mantelpiece or a sturdy sideboard, this piece brings a traditional focal point to a living room, study or hallway. The visible brass mountings, glazed circular dial and distinctive wooden case contribute to the classical aesthetic of a period interior.

A Regency bracket clock is a portable spring-driven table clock produced during the early nineteenth century in Britain, typically characterised by fine mahogany cases, brass inlay ornamentation, and refined neoclassical proportions.

These clocks were constructed primarily from dense hardwoods such as flame mahogany or rosewood, adorned with inlaid brass scrollwork, brass side handles, convex glass covers, and white enamel or painted copper dials.

Authentic Regency examples feature twin-fusee movements with pendulum hold-fasts, cast brass lion mask handles or side frets, painted convex dials displaying Roman numerals, and delicate brass inlaid corner spandrels.

Position the clock centrally on a grand fireplace mantelpiece, a dark wood sideboard, or within a formal library bookcase to serve as a focal point alongside neutral backdrop tones.

Keep the clock away from direct sunlight and central heating radiators to prevent wood veneer cracking. Dust the case gently with a microfibre cloth and apply specialised microcrystalline wax periodically to preserve the patina.
