Georgian Mahogany Chamfer Top Bracket Clock By Taylor Of London.

A fine mahogany and brass inlaid bracket antique clock, dating to the Georgian Period.
 
It has a chamfer top surmounted by a brass pineapple, on ball feet.
 
Circa 1810.
 
The sides have floral & ring side handles. To the rear is a glazed door revealing the twin fusee 8 day movement that strikes the hours on a bell. The convex dial is signed by the original maker, ‘Taylor London''.
 
John Taylor, was a clockmaker who worked from
 
Gloucester Street, London and was renowned for
 
making bracket clocks. Several of his clocks are
 
illustrated in various horological reference books.
 
The case is in excellent original condition, the movement has been serviced recently and is in full working order. The clock comes complete with keys.
