This Georgian bracket clock dates from around 1810 and has a warm brown flame mahogany case with an arched top, moulded framing, and side sound frets backed by pink patterned fabric. The piece houses an eight-day twin fusee movement and stands on four tall, fluted brass feet, topped with a hinged brass carrying handle. The engraved and silvered dial displays Roman numerals alongside a date calendar aperture, secured behind a curved glass door with a cast brass bezel. The clock measures Width 28.5 cm at feet, Height 41.2 cm, and Depth 19.7 cm at feet. It sits securely on a mantelpiece or a library shelf in a traditional study, living room, or hallway to keep time and add period character to an interior.

Originating in 17th and 18th century Britain, bracket clocks were portable spring-driven timepieces designed to sit on a decorative wall bracket, mantelpiece, or table.

These clocks typically feature solid mahogany or walnut cases, brass mechanical movements, glass front panels, and engraved brass or silvered dials.

Authentic period pieces generally feature fusee movements, hand-engraved dials, hand-cut gears, and period-correct joinery within the mahogany cabinet.

Position the timepiece as a central focal accent on a minimalist fireplace mantelpiece, an oak sideboard, or integrated into a styled bookshelf.

Keep the clock situated away from direct sunlight, drafts, and radiators, while having the internal mechanism professionally movement-serviced every five to seven years.
