A beautiful lacquered stationary box, intricately decorated throughout with chinoiserie scenes. The box opens to reveal the original velvet sloping writing surface with storage beneath for pens and paper. Having a single drawer to the side. Good original condition throughout. Chinese Export, Circa 1840.
