The oak office chair is designed with a comfortable curved bar back, supported by an elegant vertical fan back and shaped supports. The seat is extremely comfortable to sit on, having been designed with a ‘saddle’ shaped seat. The oak office chair boasts a lovely mellow golden oak colour, having been cleaned and French polished, by hand, to a professional standard in our workshop. Therefore, the colour and patination are of an excellent standard. The oak office chair sits on four cabriole shaped solid oak legs that terminate on its original steel castors. The chair incorporates a revolving mechanism which rotates 360 degrees; the seat height can be adjusted by turning a ribbed metal screw on the underside of the chair. The mechanism also features a reclining action, the tension of which can be adjusted by turning a small wheel at the back of the mechanism. The Edwardian oak desk chair mechanism has been cleaned, restored and serviced and is in excellent working order.

The chair frame is sturdy and the item is extremely comfortable to sit on, as it features a lovely padded seat. This Edwardian desk chair would look superb in a variety of rooms in the home or office. It would suit either a traditional or contemporary setting.

Condition Report:
This is a fine quality antique English Edwardian oak desk chair, circa 1910, incorporating a revolving mechanism, with a “saddle” shaped seat, which is in excellent original condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the chair but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The adjustable height mechanism is in good working order, having just been cleaned, restored and serviced. There is some play to the mechanism but this is perfectly acceptable, and in line with the age of the chair. The chair has been French polished, by hand, to a professional standard, in our workshop. The chair sits on four solid oak legs that terminate on its original steel castors. This item is solid in joint and ready to use.
