A fine quality mahogany and brass mounted armchair with original leather upholstery. The chair is in the Directoire style with a simple and elegant design. The piece is low backed and would work well in any part of the room as it is finished beautifully on all sides. The armchair is made in quality dense Cuban mahogany throughout, and applied with simple ogee profile brass moulding. The legs are fluted with brass ring collars and simple dart shaped mounts. The Moroccan leather is the original and is in overall good condition and is very usable with just a couple of splits at the front. A fine quality and stylish armchair in great untouched condition. C.1880.
