French Antique Company has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
It dates from around 1880.
There are no chips at all.

It has its wonderful original bevelled glass with no scratches.
It would have originally been used as an overmantel mirror above a fireplace in a grand room with very high ceilings but it could also be used as a leaner mirror in a lounge, hall or bedroom.
Antique gilt mirrors of this size, condition and quality are incredibly hard to come by.
