Antique French Louis Xv Mirror - Bevelled Glass

Description

Magnificent 19th century French gilt Louis XV leaner mirror in superb condition.

It dates from around 1880.

It has its absolutely beautiful real original water gilt (gold leaf) on gesso frame and a very large shell and floral crest. There are no chips at all.

It has its wonderful original bevelled glass with no scratches.

It would have originally been used as an overmantel mirror above a fireplace in a grand room with very high ceilings but it could also be used as a leaner mirror in a lounge, hall or bedroom.

Antique gilt mirrors of this size, condition and quality are incredibly hard to come by.
