Whites Antiques has dated this piece to the 18th Century.
It has an upholstered back and seat currently with a natural jute finish ready to be re-upholstered; this can be carried out in-house at an additional cost using client's own fabric.

The frame is well made and has the original scraped back paint showing the typical Gustavian delicate blue/grey. It has serpentine arms with a padded upholstery area; the front legs are rounded and turned with carved reeded accents including a floral motif to the top. The back legs are straight, at an angle, and also have carved reeded accents. There is a further intricate carved motif of a continuous infinity loop around the upholstered areas of the seat and the back.
