The gilded slip immediately next to the mirror, the depth of the tiers of ebonised plain, carved rippled and reeded trims have a dramatic effect that catch the light and reflect in a subtle manner and culminate in perfectly mitred corners.
The hand painted faux tortoiseshell with its rich variety of warm tones of amber, gold and brown has been skillfully executed by mixing pigments to make up a palette of colours used with varying sizes and types of artists paint brushes.
