Havard and Havard has dated this piece to the 1800s.
The two front sticks are tenoned into the arm rail and the intermediate ones are slightly rebated and nailed onto the rear of the rail, a most unusual detail.

The 2 inch thick pine seat has a broad under chamfer and the four ash, splayed legs are tenoned through it.
The surface retains what appears to be an original reddish-stained varnish with an intense patina and great variation in colour.
Probably English, circa 1800.
