George II Style Gainsborough Oxblood Red Leather & Mahogany Armchair (Georgian)

Description

This George II style, Gainsborough armchair with solid mahogany frame and deep button down faded oxblood red coloured leather hide upholstery, dates from the early to mid C20th. With full button down back and seat. Open padded arms with curved fluted arm supports. Full brass tack trim. Raised on fluted square front legs, swept square rear legs all supported by H-Stretchers.

The leather has been faded, possibly by design.

A very handsome Gainsborough armchair. In good condition and ready for use.

Dimensions:

This armchair measures approximately 103 cm (40.5") tall, 64.5 cm (25.5") wide, and 77 cm (30") deep. The seat height is approximately 43 cm (17").

Condition:

Please see the pictures for details of the items condition. - This armchair is in a good condition commensurate with its age, and is structurally sound and sturdy. Minor marks and blemishes to the frame. The leather is faded, possibly by design, and there is one small spot of wear, to the rear of one of the shoulders. Structurally the upholstery appears sound. Very serviceable and ready to use. - As with all vintage & antique furniture there will be signs of use, marks, wear & tear, etc.
