Chinoiserie Square Back Armchair

Description

A unique and tastefully decorated late George III chinoiserie armchair, in Elm attributed to East Anglia. C.1800.

This 'square back kitchen chair' is characterised by elegant simplicity with curved top rail, supported on four rectangular spindles with a curved rail beneath, shaped arms and solid seat.

With slightly out swept back legs and square tapered forelegs intersected by stretchers on all sides. Together with a fitted blue chinoiserie cushion.

In wonderful original condition, structurally excellent,
