Description:
The Victorian walnut office chair is designed with an elegant curved, buttoned & padded leather backrest, above a single tier of finely turned spindles, flanked by spandrels, united by two reeded frames. The frame curves round to form wraparound arms, supported by larger decorative etched spindle supports at the front of each arm. The Victorian walnut office chair has been upholstered at some point in the past with a burgundy red leather, finished with hand-tacked brass studs to the perimeter. The stuff-over sprung seat is comfortable to sit on and is decorated with brass studwork to its perimeter on a moulded bow front rail, flanked by symmetrical scribe carvings to the frieze. The Victorian walnut office chair stands on sturdy ring turned legs to the front, with splayed block legs to the rear, terminating on its original castors on the front legs, with wooden button pads to the rear.

Condition Report:
This in an attractive antique English Victorian walnut office chair, upholstered in burgundy red leather, circa 1880, in good condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the chair frame. There has been old repair to the back right-hand corner of the outside arm frame; which is solid in joint. The Victorian walnut office chair has been upholstered at some point in the past with a burgundy red leather, finished with hand-tacked brass studs to the perimeter. The leather is in good overall condition, with nominal old use marks to the seat but nothing significant, given the age of the leather. The sprung seat is supportive. As the chair boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received. The chair sits on its original castors to the front legs. This Victorian walnut office chair is well constructed, solid in joint and ready to use.
