In A Nutshell Antiques and Interiors has dated this piece to the Regency era.
This continuous curving line formed by the sides of the back, the seat rail and the chair legs are essential features of a 'Trafalgar'. This design was popular around 1810 with naval references, such as the rope-twist back rail, having been popular in the time of Lord Nelson.

The chairs have drop-in seats which have been re-covered in a good quality fabric which compliments the chairs.
The chairs are in very good condition for their age and are strong and sturdy. There are some signs of age and use, some minor marks and knocks but nothing detrimental. They have been gently polished and the mahogany has a beautiful rich patina.

The best description comes from the photos so please look at them all carefully and if you have any questions just ask.
