Description

Here we have a wonderful and rare Caistor chair made by John Shadford of Fountain Street Caistor Lincolnshire c1850. As you can see the chair has lovely colour and patina. The chair is made from Ash, Elm and Beech. John Shadford was a chairmaker and woodturner. This is apparent in the spindles as these are exquisitely turned. A rare chair collectors dream in lovely condition with tight joints and no signs of repair. Small split in the seat which is just shrinkage no movement. A beautiful chair from a great maker ready for your home.
