Description

An elm and ash framed, Shropshire country chair, dating from the late C18th, George III period. Featuring a yoke top rail over solid vasiform splat, solid seat, turned side and rear seat rails, without front rail, in the Shropshire / Staffordshire style. Raised on ring turned front legs, on off-set pad feet, supported by ring turned front stretcher and double side and rear stretchers.

A quality country chair, in very good condition with good colour, polish and patina throughout, ready for use.

Dimensions:

This chair measures approximately 96 cm (38") tall, 48 cm (19") wide, and 38 cm (15") deep. The seat height is approximately 43 cm (17").

Condition:

Please see the pictures for details of the items condition. - This chair is in a very good condition commensurate with its age. Very sturdy. Some marks and blemishes. A few historic extinct old worm holes. Good colour, polish and patina. Very serviceable and ready for use. - As with all vintage & antique furniture there will be signs of use, marks, wear & tear, etc.
