A George III period, set of five, elm, country dining chairs and carver, Circa 1790. Set consisting on four chairs and one carver armchair. These chairs in Sheraton country vernacular style, constructed in well figured solid English elm. Featuring an arched top rail, over central baluster shaped splat flanked by reeded stick splats. Drop in rush woven seats. Tapered legs, supported by H-stretchers

A good set of country chairs, well presented. Frames with some marks, signs of use, and odd. minor repairs. Good colour, polish and patina, and in good overall condition. Ready for use.

These chairs measure approximately 93.5 cm (37") tall, 48.5 cm (19") wide, and 44.5 cm (17.5") deep. The seat height is approximately 44.5 cm (17.5"). The carver measures approximately 93.5 cm (37") tall, 55 cm (22") wide, and 48 cm (19") deep. The seat height is approximately 44.5 cm (17.5").

Condition:

Please see the pictures for details of the items condition. - These chairs are in a good condition commensurate with their age, and are structurally sound and sturdy. There are some age related marks, blemishes and signs of wear on the frames. No loose joints, some sympathic repairs, including a rear leg with partial replacement, done to a very high standard with old timber. Reed seats are good with only a few splayed strands. Very sturdy and ready for use. - As with all vintage & antique furniture there will be signs of use, marks, wear & tear, etc.

A 30-day return period is offered for peace of mind. Items must be returned in the same condition as supplied.
