Fine Pair Of 17th Century Oak Side Chairs

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Holmes Antiques

A Pair of Charles II Oak Side Chairs of very good colour, having original seats and standing tall on the original feet. Two of the bottom side stretchers have been replaced in the correct manner many years ago, otherwise in good and solid condition with no other replacement parts. The crest and front rails deeply carved with scrolls.

These Chairs have an historically interesting old hand written label taped to the underneath relating to Shackleton the Poler explorer. It is possible that these Chairs were made in Ireland.
