George III Open Armchair

18th century
Description

A very strong and handsome George III mahogany armchair of generous proportions, simple yet beautiful interlacing splat below the carved crest expressing foliage, chamfered forelegs with crisp egg and dart moulding to the outside edge, concealed dovetail tenon to stretcher and chamfered inside back legs. In the Chippendale taste, C.1760

The drop in seat is currently in calico awaiting a top fabric, this is a service we can provide upon request.
