A Fine Set of Four George III Carved Mahogany Dining or Side Chairs, C.1770

18th century
Description

Great quality, colour and skin. They are of generous Georgian proportions and stand well.

Condition wise all solid and clean with the original seat blocks. The backs too are in very good order, three of the scroll terminals across the set have been re-glued and one cross stretcher has a few teeth marks! Yellow damask seat covers marked in places. Some typical superficial wear to frames commensurate with age.

They backs have a slight curve and rake which makes them comfortable to set it and also accounts for their good condition. However this does have a bearing on how they photograph....they look even better in the flesh.
