A superb 19th Century Gainsborough armchair in a warming blue plush velvet. A strong example with generous proportions, upholstered back and arms with sweeping supports, carved with acanthus leaves and headed with flower head patera. Raised on finely carved ball and claw forelegs. Possibly a product of London stores, C1880.
