A Set of 6 George 111 Painted Armchairs Circa 1770 Attributed to Thomas Chippendale

Description

A set of 6 George 111 painted armchairs circa 1770 in the French taste and almost certainly made in the workshop of Thomas Chippendale . Now later chalk white painted and probably original gilded . The underside of these chairs display the classic clamp cut mark's on the inside of the seat rail particular to his workshop which allowed a cramp to be used to tighten the rail and leg while glueing.
