Fine Quality Gilt Wall Mirror with Musical Motifs

A fine quality gilt wall mirror in an early French style. The mirror has a lovely profile to the frame with a series of running mouldings. The top is fixed with a wonderful mount featuring all different type of musical instruments gathered in a wreath of roses and supported by garlands of foliage and flowers. The gilding is original throughout and features matt and polished gold. The mirror plate is the original and has a bevelled edge, it does have some slight foxing appropriate to age. The whole has a great faded slightly worn look and is ready to hang. C.1870.
