In A Nutshell Antiques and Interiors has dated this piece to the 19th Century.

It is a low chair and could possibly have been made as a fireside chair or a lambing chair.
It is in good condition for its age and has a wonderful rich colour and lovely patina. It is a good sturdy and comfortable chair and the rush is in good order. There have been some historic repairs over the years and it looks like three of the spindles may have been replaced at some point. There are of course some signs of age and use as well but nothing detrimental and it displays beautifully.

The chair stands approximately 38" (97cm) high. Arm to arm the chair is 21" (53cm) wide and it is 18" (46cm) deep. The seat is 13 3/4" (35cm) high.
