A Pair Of Scottish George III Walnut Side Chairs C.1760s

A more unusual timber for a chair of this period. Both chairs are in good condition and structurally sound. The restrained design and use of walnut are reminiscent much later chairs by Sir Robert Lorimer. One of the back splats has a small repair, visible on the diagonal image, and the stretchers are nicely rounded for centuries of use. Chair seats are drop-in and ready to be re-covered. Height from floor to seat 45cm
