Description

Incredible 19th century French gilt Louis XV mirror in superb condition.

It dates from around 1880.

It has its original real gilt (gold leaf) on gesso frame in a subtle leaf design, a huge ornate shell and floral crest and large side scrolls. There are no chips to the frame at all.

It has its lovely heavy glass with no scratches or foxing.

It has all its original backboards.

It would make a wonderful free standing leaner mirror in a lounge, hall or grand bedroom. It would also look beautiful as an overmantel above a large fireplace in a room with very high ceilings.
