This Regency longcase regulator clock by Pearce and Sons of Leicester is constructed from flame mahogany with a warm brown timber colour, showing a silvered regulator dial behind a glass hood door with a brass bezel. The tall case includes a long glazed trunk door with a brass surround, subtle mouldings, and a plinth base standing flat on the floor, while the interior displays a mercury pendulum and weight-driven 5-pillar movement. Measuring 190 cm high, the clock makes a striking vertical statement in a gentleman's library, hallway, or study. Its classical proportions and refined wood grain complement traditional interior schemes while serving as a functional timepiece.

A regulator longcase clock is a precision weight-driven floor clock crafted for high timekeeping accuracy, historically utilised by clockmakers and observatories as a master reference timekeeper.

These clocks are typically constructed with flame mahogany veneers over a solid oak frame, featuring brass movements, silvered brass dials, and glass glazed doors displaying temperature-compensated pendulums.

Authentic pieces feature specialised dial layouts with separate subsidiary dials for hours and seconds around a prominent minute hand, precision deadbeat escapements, high-grade cabinetwork, and maker signatures on the dial face.

A longcase regulator functions as an architectural anchor point in formal hallways, dining rooms, or study spaces, adding historical character and vertical proportion when contrasted against minimalist backdrops.

The mahogany casing should be kept away from direct heat and sunlight, dusted with a dry lint-free cloth, while the mechanical movement requires professional oiling and servicing every five to seven years.
