19th Century Charles X Style Walnut Armchair and Footstool

1900 - 1920
Description

This is a very handsome, good quality walnut armchair with large matching footstool in the Charles X style dating from around 1900.

The pair are in excellent condition, reupholstered in a beige silk damask with padded back and overstuffed seat with tasselled fringe. The solid walnut reeded frame has acanthus carved scrolled arms and scroll toes joined by a substantial wavy, reeded X frame stretcher beneath.

The pair are in super order and very comfortable.

The chair measures 111 cms high by 68 cms deep and 57 cms wide.

The seat is 42 cms high and 52 cms in depth.

The footstool measures 43 cms high and is 68 cms square.
