A charming George III mahogany serpentine top single tea caddy with working lock and key, c.1790
The tea caddy is of unusual form with a serpentine top above a tapered body. The caddy has boxwood inlay to the caddy rim, lid and escutcheon. The top shows some fading (please see photographs) and there are some small nibbles to the extremities in areas.
An unusual Georgian tea caddy in a lovely untouched condition, complete with the original key.
