Yolanda Gray Antiques has dated this piece to the 1860s.
The Victorian nursing chair sits on elegant fluted tapering mahogany legs to the front, with spayed legs to the rear. All four legs terminate on the original brass castors. The Victorian nursing chair would benefit from being re-upholstered, as the fabric is tired, faded, with marks in places; therefore, it is being sold for re-upholstery.

Condition Report:
Here is a good quality antique English Victorian nursing chair, of good proportions, constructed of mahogany, circa 1860, upholstered in oyster velvet material, which would benefit from being re-upholstered. Nominal old use marks to the mahogany frame, but nothing significant, considering the age of the item. The Victorian nursing chair would benefit from being re-upholstered, as the fabric is tired, faded, with marks in places (there is a cigarette burn to the seat in the corner on the right-hand side); therefore, it is being sold for re-upholstery. The Victorian nursing chair frame boasts a lovely mellow mahogany colour, having been cleaned and French polished in our workshop. The legs retain the original brass castors. This chair is solid in joint.
