Antique English Edwardian Oak & Crimson Red Leather Revolving Office Desk Arm Chair (Circa 1910)

1900 - 1920
Description

Here is a fine quality antique English Edwardian desk chair, featuring a revolving mechanism, constructed of solid oak, circa 1910, with a newly upholstered crimson red leather seat, in excellent working condition. The Edwardian desk chair features a comfortable curved scroll bar back, connected to wrap around arms, supported by an elegant vertical fan back. The Edwardian desk chair seat has been newly upholstered, to a professional standard, in top quality full grain crimson red leather, which has been finished with hand-tacked brass studs to the perimeter and traditional hessian webbing to the underside - it is therefore very comfortable to sit on. The chair frame has been cleaned and French polished, by hand, to a professional standard, therefore the colour and patination is of an excellent standard. The Edwardian desk chair incorporates a revolving mechanism and it rotates 360 degrees; the seat height can be adjusted by turning a ribbed metal screw on the underside of the chair. The mechanism also features a reclining action, the tension of which can be adjusted by turning a small wheel at the front of the mechanism. The chair mechanism is in good working order. The Edwardian desk chair sits on four splayed solid oak legs that terminate on the original steel & brass ball castors, which are in good condition.
