Description

A 19th century South African arm chair stinkwood. Now a protected species in South Africa, the timber comes from the white and black stinkwood trees and derives its name from the smell that emanates when freshly cut. Needless to say after 150 years there is no smell. The timber is heavy and takes on a beautiful patination when waxed.
