Each chair has a shaped elm seat and a hoop back enclosing simple hand drawn spindles. Superb example of a primitive Windsor chair with a solid Elm seat. They stand on turned tapering legs joined by H-stretchers.

They are in good condition for their age. They have developed a lovely patina and are generally strong and sturdy. There have been some small old repairs including to a split at the top of one leg and there are various other signs of age and use but nothing detrimental and they display beautifully.
