19th Century Yew-wood Windsor Rocker

Description

Superb, as good as you will ever find, mid 19th century Yew-wood and elm high back Windsor rocking chair. I think there is a Yorkshire one. Fabulous design and the most gorgeous colour and patination only achieved from years of waxing. The seat and rockers are elm, everything else is either yew-wood or burr yew-wood. I don't think I have ever seen a better example. Having burr yew-wood back splats is very un-common. The chair is in good original condition although there are a couple of very minor shakes to the seat and there is an old crack to the middle back bar underneath but it is totally solid. I have never seen a better one. There is a thin squab cushion for the seat that ties on.

SIZE; 19" wide by 19" deep by 40" high overall. Seat height is 17"
