Antique English Georgian Gillows Inspired Mahogany Bar Back Desk Office Library Dining Armchair Carver (Circa 1820)

This is a fine quality English Georgian armchair carver, in the manner of Gillows, constructed of solid mahogany, with a recently upholstered seat, circa 1820, in excellent condition. The Georgian armchair carver is constructed from solid mahogany and features a curved bar back, with curved horizontal central splat with carved tulip ends, secured by scroll shaped arms. The drop-in seat has been recently upholstered in top quality green wool damask fabric. If you do not like the colour/style of the upholstery, we can re-cover the seat in a fabric of your choice, for an additional £40. The seat is supportive has also been is finished with traditional hessian backing - the seat is firm but extremely comfortable to sit on. The Georgian armchair carver stands on fine turned reeded legs at the front and sabre legs to the rear.

Condition Report:

The mahogany frame has been cleaned and French polished by hand in our workshop, therefore the patination and colour are of an excellent standard. The original upholstery is clean and in excellent condition. The underside of the seat is finished with traditional hessian backing. The seat is supportive and extremely comfortable to sit on. If you do not like the colour/style of the upholstery, we can re-cover the seat in a fabric of your choice, for an additional £40. The Georgian armchair carver sits firm on the ground and does not wobble. It is well built and heavy; with no breaks, which is a sign of quality. This Georgian armchair carver is solid in joint and ready to use.
