Excellent Pair of Gillows Library Armchairs

19th century
Description

Oak library chairs circa 1870-1890 by gillow and co in the klismos style , both chairs fully stamped gillow and co and the regd number. Upholstered in dark green leather and standing on brass castors these chairs are a very attractive and unusual shape with a touch of the late 19th century gothic revival look. This particular model of gillow chair is quite rare and now very hard to find. This pair were recently acquired by US in the english lake district.
