Regency Gilded Convex Wall Mirror

19th century
Description

Circa 1815. An interesting quality Regency period gilded convex mirror. The top surmounted by a gilded and ebonized eagle with wings expanded resting on a circular sphere, this is mounted on an unusual platform with foliate carving, resting on three animal feet. There is further foliate carving to the sides and to the underside of the frame. The original convex mirror is held in place with a ribbed ebonized bevel with further carvings to the outside.
