French Grand scale pair of mid 19th century carved walnut armchairs. The high camel back seat is supported on carved and shaped arms. The arms carved with stiff acanthus leaf decoration, deep carved reeding and floral motifs. The seat and back are upholstered with horse hair and have been re-covered in light brown tobacco coloured silk. The carved and shaped frieze is centralised with an inverted shell and lattice work etching to the background.
