Chair Stunning Oak Wainscot Yorkshire/derbyshire Charles II C1660

Here we have a wonderful Charles II Oak Wainscot armchair c1660. As you can see the chair has outstanding colour and patina. This chair is almost certainly from the Derbyshire/Yorkshire area and is a fantastic example of its type. There is a high back with superb interlaced carved roundels to the top with upper and lower mouldings and stamped twice on either side WM. Below there are two fielded panels with diamond shaped carvings with internal decoration. There are well shaped arms sitting on beautiful turned supports. There is an original two plank seat of great colour and grain. The shallow frieze has a decorative moulding to the front and sides and the legs are beautifully turned replicating the arm supports. We believe the side and rear stretcher to be 19th century replaced but the front stretcher is original. A super chair in fantastic retail condition and a great example of its type. The dimensions are approx 112 cm high 43 cm deep 57 cm wide.
