Here we have a rare Victorian Windsor rocking chair by John Shadford of Caistor Lincolnshire c1860. As you can see the chair has outstanding colour and patina. The chair has retained some of the original stain which has worn in all the right places, There is a broad top rail and wonderful turned spindles to the back which is what we expect to see in these chairs as John Shadford was an expert turner and chair maker. The arms are well shaped and have turned supports leading to a single piece Birch seat. There are well turned legs joined by an H stretcher and the original runners are in place. The chair is a mixture of Birch and Ash and is in wonderful retail condition ready for your home. The dimensions are approx 112 cm high 60 cm wide 70 cm deep.
