Set of 4 Scottish Sheraton Dining Chairs

Description

Good set of four early 19th century Scottish Sheraton design dining chairs in satin birch. Nicely turned front legs with bar backs with nice shape carved centre back bar. Over-stuffed seats with pleasing neutral cover. The chairs are all in good tight condition and the upholstery is sound. The chairs are a lovely colour with original patination and waxed finish.

Satin birch was often used in Scotland as a substitute for mahogany as it grew naturally in Scotland.

SIZE; 18" cross by 16" deep by 35" high. Seat height is 18 1/2"
