Description:
This is a fine quality antique Victorian Morris & Co. design Arts & Crafts mahogany armchair, circa 1890, having been newly re-upholstered, and is in excellent condition. Ideal for use as an occasional chair around the home or office desk chair. This Arts & Crafts arm chair is constructed from top-quality solid mahogany. The armchair boasts an arched shaped top rail, secured by a bank of finely shaped vertical slats uniting the top rail to the seat frame underneath - this not only looks stunning, but provides structural support to the chair frame as a whole. The arms terminate on fine ring turned supports, above a bow fronted reeded seat frieze, with tapering ring turned front legs and sweeping splayed legs to the rear. The drop-in seat has been newly upholstered to a professional standard in full grain burgundy red leather. The underside of the seat has been covered with traditional hessian in the traditional manner. The leather seat is generously padded and firm, but extremely comfortable to sit on. If you do not like the upholstery, we can re-cover the seat in a fabric of your choice.

Condition Report:
This Arts & Crafts arm chair is in excellent condition having just been professionally re-upholstered to a professional standard in full grain burgundy red leather. Therefore, the upholstery is new and free from damage, rips, and marks or fading. If you do not like the upholstery, we can re-cover in a fabric of your choice. The chair frame has been cleaned and French polished, by hand, to a professional standard in our workshop, therefore the colour and patination is in excellent condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the mahogany frame but nothing significant considering the age of the item. There are no breaks to the chair frame or legs. The frames and arms are solid and in excellent condition with no loose joints. The armchairs sit firm on the ground and do not wobble.
