In A Nutshell Antiques and Interiors has dated this piece to the 18th Century.
It is a good comfortable chair, sturdy and well made. The patina on the seat is stunning and the chair has a fantastic look with layers of original paint and stain attractively worn away over the years.

It is approximately 42" (107cm) high and the arms are 24 1/2" (62cm) wide. The seat is 15" (38cm) deep and stands 16" (41cm) high.
It is in very good condition for its age and is strong and sturdy. There are signs of historic worm in the top of the hoop and in the seat which has all been treated as a precaution and hasn't affected the chair structurally or aesthetically. There is a small old repair where the hoop joins the arm and of course it is not without signs of age and use but nothing detrimental and it displays beautifully.
