Superb 19th Century Armchair

Description

Very unusual 19th century mahogany armchair, fabulous carved arm fronts displaying an eagle fighting a serpent and large well carved front legs with ball and claw feet . The rear rounded slightly splayed legs terminate in a pad foot and the seat edge is framed with blind fret carved detail. The striking fabric is obviously early 20th century but remains in good usable condition this high quality and very rare armchair was recently acquired from a large country manor house
