Here we have a wonderful and rare Windsor low fireside chair by John Shadford of Caistor in Lincolnshire c1860. As you can see the chair has fantastic colour and patina. Being a chair maker and wood turner the quality of the turned spindles,legs and arm supports is no surprise. Please see the photos from the original Shadford sketchbook.The spindles, legs and top rail are all Ash and the seat is a lovely piece of thick Elm. A super period chair in great retail condition ready for your home. The dimensions are approx 105 cm high 57 cm wide 45 cm deep.
