This style of chair was also known as a “Captains chair” and boasts large proportions.
The fronts of the arms also boast a foliate carved motif. The chair has been newly & professionally upholstered with traditional horsehair filling and top-quality full grain brown leather, finished with hand-tacked brass studs to the perimeter. The seat has been re-sprung, to ensure it is firm but comfortable; therefore, it is supportive and extremely comfortable to sit it. The underside of the seat has been covered with traditional hessian in the traditional manner. The beautiful chair stands on its original splayed oak legs that terminate on replacement English made solid brass & mug castors.

The chair rotates 360 degrees the mechanism runs smoothly. The chair mechanism is in good working order, having been cleaned and serviced. This chair is not designed to recline, which was common in early desk chairs.
