Exceptionally Rare William Cole Antique Clissett Armchair

There are only two other William Cole antique armchairs known about, one is in a museum in London and this chair is identical to it. William Cole of Bosbury was the Brother in Law of Philip Clissett, he was also a chair maker. This model dates from the mid 19th century and is in superb, original condition. Made in ash and fruit woods, this William Cole armchair is very much in the manner of a Philip Clissett chair, both the uprights are stamped W.C and the chair has the woven seagrass seat. A very rare and fine example of a William Cole antique spindle back armchair.
